Human Research Technologist - Health and Medicine

The Center for Healthy Aging in the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State, University Park, PA, seeks a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual to join our team as a Human Research Technologist. This position will support several NIH-funded research projects and will be responsible for working with an interdisciplinary team of data scientists, faculty, staff, and administrators.

Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Process expense and travel reports.
  • Manage participant compensation.
  • Manage lab inventory and purchase requests.
  • Coordinate recruitment, screening, and ongoing study-related calls.
  • Organize and monitor data collection by printing and assembling study materials, coordinating shipments to study participants, and tracking participant data.
  • Draft protocols, abstracts, and consent forms; complete and submit Institutional Review Board paperwork and modifications; enter and analyze data supporting scientific papers; develop and analyze research materials.

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled at a Professional or Intermediate Professional level, depending on the candidate's experience and education. Typically requires an Associate Degree or higher, a Bachelor's Degree preferred, plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a Professional. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. Additional education and experience required for higher level.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SAP Concur, and SIMBA is preferred but not required.

Additional Information:

This is a limited-term staff position, funded for one year from the date of hire, with an excellent possibility for renewal.

This position will require the successful completion of standard background checks.
